Nach vielen Monaten in Benutzung kann ich sagen, dass es prima funktioniert, ABER die Spitze im Laufe der Zeit etwas abreibt. Alle paar Monate sollte man die Wheels deshalb neu drucken. Und möglichst hartes und langlebiges Filament nutzen - und die GROSSE Version drucken. Die hält länger durch, bis die Spitze sich abreibt. Ansonsten funktioniert es prima!

@@christophkruse6639Ich habe einfaches billig-PLA genommen. Das hat ca. ein halbes Jahr lang gehalten, bis die Naben abgerieben waren. Das hält schon eine Weile. Man muss halt nur daran denken, dass das kein Metall ist und man die Räder hin und wieder mal neu druckt. Ich werde mal eine Version machen, wo man nur die Naben auswechseln kann und nicht gleich die Räder neu drucken muss.

Dazu einen Tipp: guck mal auf Kleinanzeigen, da bekommt man oft eine mit nur ganz, ganz wenigen Flugstunden (das zeigt die App i.d.R. an) - viele kaufen sich nämlich eine, kommen aber fast nie zum Fliegen und verkaufen sie dann wieder.

Sie bestimmt, wo's lang geht - ich bin nur Chauffeur und Futterspender 😂

Look at the video description, this cam was available with different FOV angles. For FPV you want a higher FOV (wide angle).

@@dtiydr For FPV flying a wide FOV is quite helpful, especially when flying through gates or close obstacles. When used as a ground cam it may look weird, I agree 😄

@@MikevomMars Agree, but if its sever fish eye its almost unusable, this in the vid is more than I wanted FPV and I really prefer none.

There's a table between them. Sex Machine could just as easily aim as knife dude can thrust. Sex machine has a whip, bottle and the crotch gun, and is skilled enough to lasso with accuracy. Are you sure you considered all factors here?

Already tried and got back to the glued solution. If the spike would be to plug into the wheel and the quality of the printer is not perfect, the spike does not fit perfectly and stands out a bit. Even 1/10th of a mm would cause friction and the wheels would not work as good as they do. So the easiest way for most users is to just use a drop of glue.

It works great as is but if you want to make it lower you'd need to reduce the diameter of the wheels. Would be interesting to test if this works as well. I'll update the Thing with an additional low height / smaller wheels version in the next days.

Just keep in mind to put some sponge rubber or similar beneath to prevent sliding on smooth surfaces.

I'd post some instructions if I find the time to do so but keep in mind that you'll need at least basic knowledge on how to use an Arduino microcontroller (how to flash software on it) since all the lights are Arduino driven.

I could post instructions on how to build this mod if there is enough interest. The hardware list is as follows: 1x LED strip (type 2812, 144 LEDS/m) 2x LED matrix 4x4 1x LED ring (24 pixels) 1x Arduino Nano 1x HC-05 Bluetooth receiver 1x 24V to 5V current converter 5-10m silicon wire + a 3D printer to print some parts Tinkering it all together is not too hard if you have experience with Arduino controllers (know how to upload code to it).

@@MikevomMars I’m pretty good with the leds my big thing is, do you have all leds somehow ran off the SR motherboard or do you have them ran off the pi which would most likely be running a server to allow connectivity to the phone? The ui on the phone itself is impressive. I set up pimoroni motes that runs a server via python which allows you to connect to a set ip address and from there you have a very very simple menu lol

@@akracing93 I kept is as simple as possible: I just connected two wires to the 24V DC output of the power supply (bottom of the printer) and routed these wires to the top of the printer (where the mainboard is located). There is plenty of space there and its easy to access. There I put a 24V -> 5V converter which powers all the LED strips, the Arduino and a Bluetooth receiver. The Arduino runs all LED effects and also manages the Bluetooth communication. To communicate with the Bluetooth module I programmed an Android app that I can run on my smartphone. I did not touch the mainboard / Pi at all. The LEDs are completely independant from it.

The best part is that it was a functional gun and they did actually fire it for the movie. Takes balls of steel to do that.

​​@@AngelusNielson those cylinders aren't really positioned in a way that would seem functional. maybe the barrel accepts singular squibs for gunfight scenes and the single shot is duplicated to make it seem like it fires multiple rounds.

@@AngelusNielson by squib I mean blank too. can we agree atleast that the cylinders do f*ck all? I can accept that the "shaft" or barrel could contain a small multi shot blank gun, but I refuse to even acknowledge the cylinders as being even possibly functional lol.
